WORCESTER, MA – Returning to the Sprinkler Factory Gallery for their third show together, multidisciplinary artists Christine Croteau, Joanne Holtje, Ted Lilley, Philip Marshall, and Mark Spencer explore their interpretations of what happens in the space between: between events, between each other, between objects, between mental states.

“Space is physical, and emotional, enveloping and separating, subatomic and galactic.  This show celebrates the many dimensions of space that define us,” offered Spencer.

Croteau is recognized for her deeply personal installations frequently using found objects and unexpected materials.

Holtje provokes with boldly colored, inventive marks that make up her layered abstract paintings.

Lilley works with a range of materials including glass, plastics, and wood to create unexpected visual effects by manipulating their surfaces and shapes.

Marshall, whose outdoor sculptures have delighted Worcesterites, continues to experiment with materials and subject.

Spencer uses imaginative techniques to skillfully craft narrative objects in a variety of media, including sculpture, printmaking, and video.

Connecting this group of artists is the spirit of exploration, experimentation, and collaboration.

“We are very excited to show at the Sprinkler Factory again.  The gallery is inspiring with its high ceilings and long walls."  Continued Holtje,  “It is a natural venue for our innovative, contemporary work.”
